The days when we used to sit down in front of the telly and have a choice of four channels to watch are long gone. Today, the TV is becoming much more than just a traditional way of watching our favourite programmes - it is becoming very 'smart' indeed.
So what is SMART TV?
Put simply, Smart TV brings together your favourite entertainment from the TV and the internet. The great thing is, it gives us the opportunity to enjoy things like online interactive media, Internet TV and on-demand streaming media, all from the comfort of our armchair.
Depending on which model you choose, Smart TV lets you catch up on all your favourite programmes from the last 7 days, enjoy social networking sites on the big screen, and even make Skype phone and video calls. Oh and by the way, you can watch ordinary telly programmes too!
How about apps?
If you have a Smartphone you'll know that you can catch up on all the TV and radio programmes you've missed over the last 7 days through sites like BBC iPlayer, as well as enjoy popular websites like You Tube, Facebook & Twitter. Well the same goes for Smart TVs.
Plus, if you like sharing photos with your family and friends like I do, you'll be pleased to hear that photo sharing apps Flickr and Picasa are a common feature with Smart TV too.
