Ready Steady Cook first appeared on the BBC in 2004, with Fern Britton as presenter and referee between two teams given the task of combining mystery ingredients to create a slap up meal in just 20 minutes. It was through this series that Britton met her husband, chef Phil Vickery. In 2000 chef Ainsley Harriott took over from Britton and the frantic fun continued. This time celebrities were invited to bring along a shopping bag of their favourite foods for the guest chefs to work with. With a strict time limit and usually a tight food budget of 5, the show was not only entertaining to watch but gave us all the confidence to see that cooking great meals doesnt have to take hours and cost a fortune. In our Ready Steady Cook brand store youll find individual pans and cookware sets so you can stir up your own culinary classics.
