This stunning model was originally released to commemorate the 75th anniversary of Mallard achieving the world speed record for steam locomotives in 1938.
It includes the legendary locomotive itself as it looked in the run up to its record attempt, painted in its famous Express locomotive colour of Garter Blue.
Accompanying the locomotive are a large oval of track with siding and buffer stop and 3 LNER teak effect coaches, with additional coaches available from the RailRoad range.
It was in July 1938 that on the East Coast Mainline route just south of Grantham that the Mallard was recorded travelling at 126mph, snatching the record from the German railway by just 1.5mph and a record that still stands to this day for a steam engine.
This remarkable set has everything you need to let you mark this truly legendary achievement.
Warning: Not suitable for children under 3 years.
