      Zulu DVD

Narrated by Richard Burton and starring an outstanding Michael Caine in his first starring role, Zulu is a tense and dramatic war film about the Battle of Rorke's Drift in 1879--which was part of the Anglo-Zulu War in South Africa--where approximately 150 British soldiers held off 4,000 Zulu warriors. Zulu is an exceptionally well-made and beautifully shot film from 1964 that demonstrates the bravery of the British troops and also acknowledges the Zulu's bravery. The emotional score of the film was conducted by John Barry. Eleven Victoria Crosses were won in the action, the most in a single battle. Most of the characters in the movie were based on real participants of the battle.

            Spectacular Spider-man - Volume 1 DVD

The fourth animated TV incarnation of Stan Lee and Steve Ditko's evergreen comic-book superhero and megamovie franchise Spider-Man, the weekly, 30 minute The Spectacular Spider-Man returned to basics as an 'origins' show, a la the live-action Superman derivation Smallville. Having only recently been bitten by a radioactive spider, 16 year-old high school junior Peter Parker was having a lot of trouble adjusting to his new powers, specifically the ability to climb walls, and his heightened 'spidey-sense'. This would be bothersome enough if Peter had been an adult, but as a high-schooler he was also struggling with such issues as teen angst, peer pressure, and raging hormones. In addition to surrounding the hero with younger versions of such friends, family members, and co-workers as Aunt May, Mary Jane, Gwen, and bombastic Daily Flash editor J. Jonah Jameson, the series was also well stocked with the familiar Spider-Man villains, among them the Sandman, Doc Ock, Venom, Electro, and the pre-Green Goblin Harry Osborn; foremost among the heavies was the Vulture, head of the fearsome assassination group known as the Enforcers. This release includes the first volume of episodes. Contains 1 disc. Cert PG.

'The Terminator' (1984) is James Cameron's much-imitated sci-fi classic. A humanoid cyborg( Arnold Schwarzenegger) from a future dominated by machines is sent back in time to kill the mother (Linda Hamilton) of the as-yet-unborn rebel leader John Connor. Meanwhile, the rebels also select an agent (Michael Biehn) to travel back in time and stop the Terminator, thereby ensuring that events follow their pre-ordained course.
In 'Terminator 2: Judgment Day' (1991) young John Connor (Edward Furlong), the future leader of a human rebellion in a machine-dominated world, is under threat from the new T-1000 Terminator (Robert Patrick) - an improved, virtually unkillable model. The adult John sends a copy of the original Terminator (Schwarzenegger) back in time, this time to protect the boy and his mother, Sarah (Hamilton).
'Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines' (2003) set ten years on from the last sequel finds John Connor (Nick Stahl) living on the streets and his mother, Sarah, long since dead. Their efforts to prevent Judgement Day were futile, although Connor does not know this, and once again he is the target of Terminators from the future. This time his enemy is female (Kristianna Loken) and even more powerful than her predecessors. However, the resistance sends another robot (Schwarzenegger) back from the future to help keep Connor and his future wife, alive.
'Terminator Salvation' (2009) is set in 2018 in a post-apocalyptic world where the human race is at war with Skynet and its army of deadly Terminators. John Connor (Christian Bale) is a young soldier who is destined to become the leader of the human resistance. It has been eight years since Batman vanished into the night, turning, in that instant, from hero to fugitive. Assuming the blame for the death of D.A. Harvey Dent, the Dark Knight sacrificed everything for what he and Commissioner Gordon both hoped was the greater good. For a time the lie worked, as criminal activity in Gotham City was crushed under the weight of the anti-crime Dent Act. But everything will change with the arrival of a cunning cat burglar with a mysterious agenda. Far more dangerous, however, is the emergence of Bane, a masked terrorist whose ruthless plans for Gotham drive Bruce out of his self-imposed exile. But even if he dons the cape and cowl again, Batman may be no match for Bane.
