NEW SAFETY LEGISLATION

Gas cookers in flats/multi buildings/dwellings

Applies to gas cookers installed from 01/01/08 in any building containing a number of individual dwellings for domestic purposes only and dual purpose properties such as flats above shops and offices.

New regulations require that a Flame Supervision Device (FSD) must be fitted to each gas burner. This is a safety device which will cut off the gas supply if the flame goes out. Any gas cooker fitted into a flat must have FSD
